1. The difference between Wi-Fi and WLAN
Wi-Fi is a WLAN based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network, wireless local area network) has many standard protocols, such as IEEE 802.11 protocol family, HiperLAN protocol family, etc.

2. Frequency band, channel, bandwidth
[Working frequency band] Divide the frequency into multiple segments, such as 2.4GHz frequency band (2.412GHz-2.484GHz)
[ Wireless channel] Divide the frequency band into multiple channels, the channel is the channel used to transmit radio wave signals, one channel at the same time Only one device can send a signal.
[Channel bandwidth] The bandwidth of the analog channel W=f2-f1, f2 is the highest frequency that the channel can pass, and f1 is the lowest frequency that the channel can pass. The greater the bandwidth, the greater the data transmission rate.

3. Common technical standards of IEEE 802.11

Remarks:
① MIMO multiple input multiple output technology has been introduced since 802.11n. The base station and terminal simultaneously use multiple antennas to send and receive signals to increase the data transmission rate and accuracy. 4×4 indicates that the base station of the wireless network has 4 antennas to transmit data, and the user terminal has 4 antennas to receive data.
②Although 802.11ac is only a 5G standard, the major mainstream 802.11ac devices all adopt dual-frequency design, which can send two signals at the same time. The 5G frequency band supports 802.11ac, and the 2.4G frequency band is backward compatible with 802.11b/g/n.

A total of 14 channels are divided, 13 channels available in China (1-13), 11 channels available in the United States (1-11)
The effective channel bandwidth is 20MHz, the actual bandwidth is 22MHz, of which 2MHz is the isolation band
The center frequency of adjacent channels is separated by 5MHz, and multiple adjacent channels have frequency overlap. There are three groups of channels that do not interfere with each other (1, 6, 11 or 2, 7, 12 or 3, 8, 13)

① Due to the high frequency of 5G Wi-Fi, the electromagnetic wave has strong energy and strong penetrating ability (constant direction). The signal penetration will lose a lot of energy, so the attenuation during the propagation process is greater and the propagation distance is shorter.
